Compensation & benefits

Salaries are reviewed annually and benchmarked with the industry. In addition to base salaries, our registered professionals and management are also eligible for annual bonuses.

Benefits commence on the first day of employment and are available to permanent full-time or permanent part-time DIALOGers who work a minimum of 20 hours per week and are receiving provincial health coverage.

Retirement planning

DIALOGers are offered a Group Retirement Program that includes two different savings plans: a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA). Participation in the plans is voluntary and is open to full-time employees only (over 20 hours per week). You can join either plan at any time after hire.

The to and fro

We encourage DIALOGers to choose sustainable modes of transportation to and from work which is why we offer secure bicycle storage, end-of-trip facilities, and transit subsidy programs in select studios. That means if you need a shower or a place to store your commuter gear, we've got you covered.

Wellness for all

DIALOGers have access to a variety of programs and activities to keep them healthy on the inside as well as the outside. Each studio offers a different mix which may include on-site fitness programs, daily stretches, monthly in-studio massages, local fitness club discounts, and mental health seminars.

An Employee Assistance Program is also available to all DIALOGers and their dependents.

Time for play

We work hard and, of course, play hard. DIALOGers can take part in a variety of social events like our Annual Street Hockey Tournament in Edmonton, summer socials in Toronto, the Stampede party in Calgary, TGIFs in Vancouver, and Wine Wednesdays in San Francisco.

Take control of your future through personalized development plans and mentoring programs. Each year begins with a goal-setting conversation with your direct manager and a senior leader, followed by quarterly coaching sessions, and real-time feedback.

Take advantage of our Integrateducation™ online courses, training, and weekly Lunch & Learn sessions; and participate in external learning and development opportunities. We provide financial support for DIALOGers' professional development, memberships, and registrations — so get out there!

We also know it's important to recognize our people. Our annual Milestone Awards honour and celebrate those who've contributed to DIALOG's success. And, advancement opportunities are available to DIALOGers who demonstrate leadership in their roles.

For DIALOGers looking to challenge themselves further, we’ve created Intergrateducation™, Iris Prize, and Aspire.  


Our award-winning education program is designed to foster creativity and give our people the tools they need to constantly improve. Internally created sessions are conducted by colleagues who are experts in their field, while external presenters from across the design industry bring the latest news on products, standards, and codes. In support of our employee wellbeing program, Integrateducation™ also offers mental health/illness, interpersonal communications, and financial planning sessions.

Iris Prize

The Iris Prize is an opportunity for passionate DIALOGers to explore unique and innovative ideas related to their discipline. Applicants from across the firm put forth a proposal on a subject that interests them, and the winning entrant receives $7,500 to do a deeper dive in that subject - along with two weeks paid leave to conduct field research. The prize recipient presents their findings to each studio in the following year, and uses the knowledge gained to build their professional skillset.


Our annual design pin-up was created to showcase and critique our work as we aspire to constantly improve. The event is two-tiered, beginning with all DIALOGers invited to present one or more projects to their studio. When the local presentations are finished, four representatives from each studio are nominated to attend our national Aspire event and present to the entire firm (thanks, live streaming!), followed by a discussion with a prestigious guest panel.
